-They talk about “blasting Indians” right away. Some kids’ movie.
-I memorized a lot of these songs at some point as a kid while on a road trip. This movie is like literally one song after another.
-Pocahontas and her friend would make a really cute lesbian couple.
-Is it offensive to Native Americans that she talks to a willow tree? I don’t really know the story there, just looking for things that seem offensive. Anyway, I wish more of my day involved sitting under a willow tree, analyzing my dreams.
-I wonder what blogs like Jezebel and stuff would say about this movie if it came out today. It seems like all bloggers have cultural studies degrees and have gotten really good at dissecting representations of race in the media. I think this is a good thing.
-What’s so bad about Kocoum? He’s fine and his name sounds like cocoa.
-John Smith is hot too but talks about killing savages too much for my taste

-What exactly is a “blue corn moon?” A quick Google search reveals the songwriter made this term up …

-The end is nothing like I expected it to be. And nothing like what really happened though. But kinda girl power? (No spoilers here).
Anyway, a crapload of Disney movies are now on Netflix so knock yourself out.
